Brunch at De Hoek Country Hotel, 6 March 2011
On Sunday 6 March ten Bentleys and their custodians rose early to meet at the local Bentley dealership in Bryanston. We are very privileged to have a good relationship with Bentley South Africa, and they are always willing to host us when we require a suitable venue.
On this first Sunday in autumn they provided us with delicious coffee and scrumptious muffins before we set off on our drive to De Hoek Country Hotel where we had arranged to have brunch. Thabo, a representative from the dealership, joined us in a new Continental GT.
De Hoek Country Hotel is situated about an hour’s drive from Johannesburg in the scenic Magalliesberg area. It was a glorious sunny morning and the countryside was lush green following several weeks of rain. After enduring the Sunday morning shopping traffic we were soon out in the country and our convoy enjoyed a pleasant drive at a relaxed pace, absorbing the scenic landscape.
Upon arrival at De Hoek we received welcome drinks on the lawn in front of the hotel followed by a most delicious meal in the garden under a canopy of trees.
The old world country charm of the hotel provided the perfect atmosphere for a group of classic and vintage Bentley enthusiasts.
